Oh my. It's surely going to have an intriguing plot.

"Hey, look at those aliens lined in multiple rows in the sky! They're going back and forth and very very slowly coming down!"

exactly, what plot? hate this. you can just picture the board meetings they're all sat around in suits talking about going for that 'retro dollar'. think of an original idea ffs.

If you're going to pick a retro game to make into a film why choose something that has NO plot what so ever?!?!?!

A film version of JSW would be great as an American Pie/trippy Fear and Loathing film. Hungover teenager has to clean house after monumental party but also has hideous acid flashbacks whilst clearing up. The Chapel would be ace. Its a sure hit i tells ya.
    Sausages is more important

I always thought Manic Miner / Jet Set Willy would make good films, but Space Invaders? Tricky. An onslaught of seemingly unlimited ranks of bio-mechanoids being fended off by a cannon. Fine. But for 2 hours? :)

Maybe Warner are going to buck the trend: stop producing movies that are 2 hours+ long and instead have shorties. About an hour long with 50 minutes worth of adverts in between. Bit like ITV heh heh. :o :-)

Will be very interesting to see how this one pans out. I reckon the plot could be a mixture of Invaders from Mars (1986) and The Last Starfighter (1984). Watch me be totally wrong. :D

I can see it being a little like Independence Day with a big mother ship and lots of smaller ships being fired at from numerous base guns. And of course, the Yanks will save the World again ;-)

I'm pretty sure my brother said that the recent film Battleship was based on the game.

It was but there was only one bit that 'actually' was, the sonar buoy thing they did

We could have a good alien invasion B movie out of this one. Given that Battleships turned out to be brainless but fun, easily passing its runtime, I'm not too sceptical for the Invaders licence.

This isn't going to work, it'll simply be the usual aliens invade the world and America saves everyone with the name Space Invaders tacked on the front.
    The trouble with tribbles is.......
