Wanted: The Biz by Chris Sievey

edited July 2014 in Wanted
I've not had much success in this bit of the forum but I'll give it another go:

Anyone got a (working!) copy of The Biz for sale?

For every day that passes without a working copy of The Biz, I will do something unspeakable to a Spectrum.
  • Why do you want it so bad? It's not very good.

If St.John Swainson is on the boards I had a it on a disc that I gave him in 2000.... well, its a lead!! I remember it being a rather fascinating game, all in BASIC and flavoured with obscure punk/indie type humour.

It's brilliant! For the reasons mentioned by Dave Fountain below. Also I've just finished reading Morrissey's autobiography and there was a lot of stuff about the early 80's music scene, so that and the Chris 'Frank Sidebottom' Sievey thing may have stirred my interest more than it might otherwise have.

It's a real 'Spirit of the Spectrum' game.

Heh, I've put it on cassette and will probably just print off an inlay if no-one has one.
  • It's an interesting concept but I don't think it's implemented very well.
    I prefer this one:

I've got a radio timperley cassette given to me by frank Sidebottom himself, also his autograph!

doesn't really help, sorry. don't think I've even played The Biz, I knew he wrote it though...

Ta, will give it a go. It came a couple of years later (and Rockstar^hamster came 5 years later) I wonder it was in part inspired by The Biz.

Still interesting though, and maybe it'll appear in games club one day, then we'll have to play it

I have to say until I recently learnt that Chris Sievey wrote ZX software he was only a bloke with a big papier mache head and most nasal Manc accent ever, scared the hell out of me to be honest! And I always thought it was Vic Reeves in disguise.
