Can someone help me...

Hey all

Well after my second complete cock up off ebay I'm feeling pretty deflated now regarding spectrums...

First one I ordered was a +2A which had the most bizarre tape issues ever and now today I've got a 48k which is completely screwed thanks to the previous owner running it on a AC 12V adaptor...

Anyway, the reason for my post is this...

Does anyone PLEASE have a working 48k spectrum for sale??? Just the unit itself i need I have an official power unit...

Can anyone help? :-(

Give Macc or bverstee a shout. They might not be as cheap as eBay, but they sell good, guaranteed working stuff.

I should also have some fully refurbished ones available fairly soon. Contact me via http://zx.zigg.net if you're interested. I could probably repair your broken one too (some others in these forums also offer repair services),

I was going to say Rwap Services but afaik their Speccies are now on sellmyretro.com

Worth a look if nothing else appears I guess. :)

Regarding "the bay" it may be worthwhile waiting for one to appear locally at a sensible price so you can both collect and see it working first. :)

Thing is, any 48K Speccy that hasn't already had some preventative maintenance (membrane replacement, electrolytic capacitor replacement etc.) is going to need it sooner rather than later.

Best to buy an already refurbed one if you don't have the technical leanings to resolve the above yourself.

Good news, I found one and bought it.

Sadly, again its from eBay but I couldn't find any anywhere else so...

it looks clean though so fingers crossed the internals are all OK.
