oh mummy reloaded

edited August 2014 in New game ideas
Lets face it oh mummy on the spectrum was crap so I think to do it justice it needs to be remade and be a lot better than what it was.

I can't believe how bad it really is as it was packaged with the +2 which never showed anything of what the +2 could do. It was out in 1984 but it seemed like a a game you would type in from the magazines.

It has already been remade for the Mega-Drive

It certainly shouldn't have been sold with the +2 but instead of showcasing its power they simply just wanted cheap games to keep the cost of the bundle down. I think snazzy looking Spectrum box art and half decent packaging combined with some top games would have made all the difference. If Midnight Resistance and Cabal had been the 'pack-in' games then that would have been impressive!

Yes, it was remade and published for the Megadrive by the Spanish group 1985 Alternativo.

Agree. About similar games, I prefer Maze Chase, which came with the Spectrum + user cassette. Cool game, in spite of being a BASIC game.

Now I don't remember any other Amidar clones for the Spectrum. Do you?

Well i for one am pee'd off with how it plays, looks and sounds so i am going to take it on myself to make a new version of it. I started by using ZX Paint brush and creating the board for the game today such will turn into the graphics for AGD or whatever its called.

Its going to be my learning tool and game so don't expect anything amazing, but it should give me a wealth of learning as i go along.

Here is the board I made and everything is of real ZX Spectrum size.

Just done the first write up of the main graphics too although they still need work.

I have been using AGD for a while but i cannot think of a way to do a version of this game, with the tombs appearing after you encircle them...I would mostly interested into learning how to do that

anyway, why not using more colorful blocks for the tombs (or whatever they are)? instead of black background maybe another color in order to get a more solid/interesting appearance?
