Doritos Penalty Shootout compo

edited September 2014 in Chit chat
Has anyone managed to get past the security question to actually play this game? It's one of those "type the fuzzy/squiggly words" ******** which are oft times equally indecipherable for both human or machine, but even when I'm absolutely sure that I've got them right it always says that I've got them wrong. The help says to type a space between words, but whether I do or not makes no difference. I've even tried the audio version which plays a string of numbers which are easier to decipher but equally impossible to get accepted. If you want to have a go here's an entry code from a packet - GBC 112 190B (although I expect that the code will only work for the first person who manages to get into the game with that code, presuming that anyone ever does so). Oh, and here's the URL: www.doritos.co.uk/shootout

i dont think your code is right

it says this is what it should look like

'In the example above, your code would be:
    GBC 1050361349'

That was indeed the case. I hadn't read the "What Is This?" link, so I didn't realise that the code number was made up from parts of two lines. It didn't help that the error message was against the wrong field either.

I didn't win a prize, even though the odds are supposedly only 1:5, but then again I gave up on Lotto scratch cards after not winning anything for a year, and their minimum prize odds are similar.

I'm now in the prize draw for a "3D TV entertainment centre!" (odds probably about 1:50000). That'll go straight on eBay if I win it.

Don't give up on competitions - I've managed to get a holiday to New York (fights with hotel) with Verbatim floppy disks, a Samsung Atom netbook from Robinson Squash, many TV box sets and film video tapes from the Evening Standard in the 90s. The Walkers crisps rain in a box in the UK was a small money spinner.

I decided to act upon your advice, to which end and this very day I purchased a single ?1 "Beginner's Luck" scratch-card while I was out doing some grocery shopping - and I won two quid! "It's going to be a hot time in the cold town tonight."

Well done winning on a scratchy, the comps that I do cost either the price of a stamp or enter the barcode of the product online for a daily/weekly draw.

Enjoy your night on the town and don't forget to post photos of your high jinx on the forum.

A mate of mine was in a Doritos test ad a few years back. Don't think it ever made the big screen though...and I can't find it on YouTube or ought.

Basically it was a big grunt of a bloke in a boxing ring and she (my mate Sherry) walks in (she's a 5foot 4inch model...skinny as heck!) and she knocks him out.

Not sure what the slogan/point of it all was, but she did look hot in her gear!

    :D

I think that this is the one:

    Delightful.

The Doritos flavour was called KnckOut, hence the scenario.

That's a negative. Like I say, I can't find the one she's in...not even through the production studio that did it.

Here is her (out of date!) Casting Call Pro account though, which does say she's been in 1.
