Aw see, now you've made me think I have to go back and play all those games I've still not finished in case I leave all those game characters stranded in tricky spots and therefore destroying their other-dimension-y type lives....... :(
Well, this (or something similar) was a major plot point in Link's Awakening, which slowly creeps up on you in the latter half of the game; that if you intend to go on to complete the game, all the characters who've helped you along will likely cease to exist.
The first strip made me think about fears and insecurities (and those things that make you stay instead going ahead), and then about all those things you leave behind when you change. Also, it speaks me about the hopes our fathers had in ourselves.
Sadly, the second strip doesn't say anything to me. I guess that the first strip is one of those "perfect" things that don't need any sequel or any change.
I was there, too
An' you know what they said?
Well, some of it was true!

See you all in about 400 years......
Reminds me of Daniel Benmergui's stuff.
