Leovigildo!
What are you doing, Leovigildo?
Leovigildo!!

or

An puzzle-adventure / action-puzzle / action-adventure game for the ZX Spectrum 48K in three separate loads (plus an extra block for the game ending sequence)l

Chapter I: The Conspiracy
leovigildo-03.gif

Four endings in a story of love, hatred, conspiracy and passion. In flip-flops. Control Leovigildo the Butler and help the Duchess to carry out her vicious plan. Or try to kidnap her. Or both. Or none. You decide!

Chapter II: The Flight
leovigildo-06.gif

The Duchess ended falling in love with Leovigildo, and they have to fly as the Duke is not very fond of their new found romance. Drive Leovigildo accross the forest obliterating every baddie in the screen to progress!

Chapter III: The Circus
leovigildo-10.gif

Leovigildo follows the Duchess across the forest and learns of her true intentions! Become an evil overlady! And everybody knows the best way to achieve such plans begins taking control of a circus. Everybody knows! This time you take control of the Duchess, who's able to bounce on trampoline-boxes to jump higher.

Be sure to read the instructions. Every load has a slightly different gameplay. You can play any chapter you want freely, but to unlock the final sequence located in the fourth load you need a password which will be granted once you finish the third chapter.

Download the English version and the source code from the bottom of the game card in our site.

Hope you like it. In the process of down-porting our MK2 engine (i.e. Ninjajar!) to work in 48K machines, we decided to expand it and create these nice games to debug everything.

Cool, man. A big amount work, it would seem.

What is the girl doing to his groin in the loading screen.

Just gave it a quick glance and the second one looks super-fun!

I give a couple of plays to the first part and I like it.

When playing the intro music, any key that is not in the 4 options stops the music (pretty cool btw!). I don't know if that's intentional.

EDIT: Oh, I see. It's 48K and pressing any key stops the music.

    OMG, it's so beautiful!

Top stuff, I like the new effects with the crates and switches. I'm sure there's more to discover too.

The trouble with these bigger games is that I have a habit of not completing them, like Ninjajar. I must make more of an effort this time.

    Thanks for the game.

I like the second part very much, hopefully there will be many levels.
However, I would have liked to play with infinite lives so I don't have to start from the beginning, to me the time limit is fine and enough.
I've noticed that if you drop a crate on spikes these disappear and from there on, he can pass through the scenery. Another bug: you can't jump the spikes from level 3 without losing one life.

    Edit :

Never mind, it's great if one doesn't cheat taking snapshots
    Spoiler:
though it would have been nice a few very difficult levels with infinite lives.
Sixteen levels and a game over message if you win..meh..too little for such a fun game, Leo didn't even dust off his wig. Now I have to play the other parts to know the end of the story.

I like the background art - especially the Mario World hills of chapter 2

    good job

    Thanks everyone.

Hikoki: in fact, there're 18 levels and a proper ending. Are you sure you didn't just run out of lives?

Great, playing again without cheats to see the finale.
Ckeck out this snapshot of level 16 :

Besides the other two problems I mentioned above, in the first part there were a few occasional emulator resets and frozen games related with comic balloons.

Is it just me or does the w not work on wads key option?
  • edited November 2014
You don't need W, there's no "UP" direction in this game.

Oh I see. I'll check it out, maybe there's a little placement bug and you get insta-killed when the level switches.

Me too. Impassable riddle for me.

It was a pleasure to see the use of crates on the first part: to alter enemy trajectories, access high platforms and avoid spikes like the ones next to the Dukes's computer.

Just started the circus part. I've run into a freeze again when text shows up. See this snapshot :

That's extrange, in our many playthroughs we never experienced such freezes. Do you have any additional hardware configured in your emulator? Have you tried running the game in 48K mode?

    I'll play in 48k mode.

This is very strange. On your snapshots, it seems that the game is completely corrupted in memory so strange stuff happens.

I'd like to know if this happens to somebody else, 'cause we have tested this game quite a lot and never experienced such corruption problems. We have used spin 0.666 and 0.7s and spectaculator 7 and 8.

I've had a great fun with the game. The third part was hilarious. Lol I must look like a pervert but you know the trapeciste said something like
    Spoiler:

I've just played a bit of the game with JSpeccy and couldn't find the same problems as with Specemu

I'm glad you could manage to finish the game, thank you :) The best reward for developers is that somebody takes the time to play their game all the way through!

Now you should check the ending sequence for a not so well hidden easter egg :D

    I'm in!
That's all?? * A meagre ellipsiotic stroll on the beach.
Now I look the circus tent close to my home with different eyes..

I would need some help in the third chapter of this game. I have a scroll - the only object I can take. But any person doesn't want it. I can see vegetable but I can't reach it. What can I do now? :)

Ha, you probably played another game, I am afraid Churrera engine doesn't offer these features.

I'm afraid these features come from the churreros' brains, you just have to visit some characters before talking to others as well as insisting on the same ones.

From the top of my mind (I tend to forget games after a while  ) -

You need those vegetables to get rid of the lion and be able to access the room behind him. The lion actually wants such vegetables, but they will make him feel ill so you will be able to get past him.

Those vegetables are unreachable. You need something long and flexible to get them.

There's this guy with a whip nearby. Yeah, you need the whip. The guy asks you to deliver a letter. You take the letter to a girl, she accepts the letter and writes a reply - which you have to give the guy.

And maybe then he's happy and will lend you his whip :)

Or maybe not, but you'll find that out. Once you get the whip you just have to go for the vegetables and use the whip in the right spot (I believe there's a platform)

Thanks for playing the game :)

This was probably my problem, because the guy with a whip didn't give me any letter.
