I seem to remember it had one, maybe two, funny seasons in the middle of the run and the rest was crap. I've got 'em all on the NAS to watch at some point. Probably just a waste of hard drive space though.
That John Sullivan (and not Nicholas Lindhurst) sang the Only Fools... themes. I think I've gone back and forth with this over the years but finally decided to wiki it today.

The thing is, i remember it being really funny for quite a while, then it went stale but i recently watched a few on Sky and i didn't laugh once. Gordon Brittas was just a prize bellend.
on that note I saw some of Newman & Baddiel In Pieces on youtube earlier. used to think that was great, but it has aged worse than...something that's aged badly. I still really like the history today sketches though. and sarcastic ray - cant remember if that was only on the mary whitehouse experience shows though?
also found out the other day Liam gallagher's real name is William. I never knew that

I always thought it was Nick who sang it too! It was only when I bought the magazine set that came with the dvd's that I realized it wasn't him at all!

I also loved this back in the day. The Mary Whitehouse Experience was hilarious! But, I bought the Newman and Baddiel live at Wembley video about 15 years ago and I was gutted to see just how badly it had aged! I guess it's probably worse another 15 years later :(
The History Today sketches have faired better, but that's because it's childish humour really. I still find those funny :))

I almost don't want to re-watch any Mary Whitehouse experience shows in case it turns out to be bad and spoils my memory of it. I did used to love that show. first heard it on radio 1, before it was on telly...
Think he went a bit literary and wrote a few books. The real question is what happened to Steve Punt? I never saw him do anything after Punt and Dennis.

I saw him on Pointless Celebrities a few weeks ago which was very apt considering I don't think I've seen him in anything since Punt and Dennis either. Frightening that all the MWE guys are in their mid-fifties now...

I started watching the Oasis documentary that's on Amazon Prime at the mo. I kinda forgot that Oasis back in the mid-90's were basically a bunch of yobs always looking to kick things off. Apparently Liam had no interest in music until his teens when a gang attacked him with a hammer and busted his head up pretty good. After he recovered he suddenly had this huge interest.
yeah I think he's probably had that interest knocked back out again, and then back in a few times :)... seem to remember a story about him losing some teeth in a bar fight with some germans a few yrs ago. tbh I don't think I've ever seen a single Liam interview where he didn't seem agitated/**** off...

He does a mass amount of radio comedy, like The Now Show and The Party Line. He also writes a lot for the panel shows. No, the jokes aren't spontaneous.
That those little black and white revolving stripy squares at the top right of ITV programs that appeared before the end of a program, or a break, were queue points for regional advertisements. They were shown on screen for 55 seconds, and then once gone it would be 5 second before the first advert would cut in on the transmission.
I saw an interview where he talked about Manchester and it seemed pretty believable.
He said that he got called a traitor and a sell-out for moving down London when he became well off.
He said "people around there are full of it. They go on about how it's the best place to live and they'd never leave.. It's all b0llocks, the minute any of them come into money, they're out of there as soon as they can. And you can't win with them. I went in a pub once and bought a round for everyone and it's "flash b@stard! Keep your f'ing drinks!".. So next time I don't bother and it's "tight b@stard! Get your hand in your pocket!""
That reminds me of the joke " Def Chris walks into an empty pub, and in his best speaking voice shouts, Drinks all round, the goldfish yells back, you sarcastic Bleeder "
Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........
I'm billy bound, its always my round. long as youre on the tap water
reminds me, only found this out recently,in old english 'Ye' did not mean 'the'. so there was no Ye Olde Tavern etc. its that in old writing the letters T and H written together looked like Y. apparently.

I think the same thing happened to the Beatles so a bit of poetic justice there...
I'm not sure I follow you?
It was funny when they gave Ringo the freedom of Liverpool or something like that and he said he'd never want to livein Liverpool! :))

maybe poetic justice was the wrong term... it didnt rhyme for a start. I just mean how oasis clearly try and emulate the beatles at every opportunity, so him getting hassle for moving to London like they did is a bit ironic/funny.
I think Liam wanted to be John Lennon but he's just a complete and utter prick (Liam, not John!) lol
I'm surprised Oasis lasted as long as they did considering the amount of punchups and fights Noel and Liam had. Noel's done okay as he has talent (he can write and play guitar) but Liam has been quiet lately. Don't think Beady Eye are together anymore.

Figured that out years ago!

He went a bit serious and started doing documentaries about oil and world economy...apparently they're good but I've only seen short clips

gone off topic, sorry.
