just a little game I made with AGD...to try something different

QA (accelerate/decelerate) OP (steer left/right) M (fire) 2(Pause)
at 200 damage points you loose a tank

It's a very small game but quite tough
It misses music but anyone feeling to add some should feel free to do so

    you're right, it is very different to the standard agd game-type. It isn't a type of game that particularly appeals to me but it is refreshing to see something a litte out of the ordinary!

    Hmm... that's a nice idea to meditate upon.

    Maybe as a part of a larger game (e.g. like the chapters in Cousin Horace)?

    As a matter of fact this started as the second stage of my new Cattivik game....then it took its own life :)

    Anyway I made a new mission for the game: check it out (also: the game name has changed into "WWI FIGHTING HEROES AND SOME CRAZY ALIENS"

    Very cool graphics!!
    I can't feel the goal of the game. I would prefer instakill contacts with tthr enemies and that they stayed longer doing something before going away. It'd be nice that some of them approached more slower using the cool perspective effect.
    Also the fire sight is unplayable for me because doesn't remain fixed respect the biplane.

    Wow the F1 desert racing 3d from your dropbox folder looks promising!! I may post a few suggestions later :smile:

    Well the biplane and the tank part plays differently so you can try one or the other
    anyway this was in order to test 3D effects on AGD and i think it works pretty well
    I am thinking about adding more features (end level bosses or differnt behaviours) but i also have to streamline my codes so i don't run out of vairables...
    for now this is what i could come up with

    i just realized a little bug which was not apparent in the z80 file, but became obnoxiuos in the TAP file
    so i fixed it and everything is back in my folder

    Nice one Gab. Just played the desert tank version through, moving round the map towards objectives is fun. The biplane version is a bit tricky for me. I'd echo hikoki's suggestion of different alien behaviour, staying on the screen for a bit and doing things you can react to.

    And of course it has your usual graphical wizardy.

    Your dropbox is a bit of a treasure trove!

    and I know: the game is small and shallow (alien behaviours being too simple and all)

    Infact this is probably more like a "proof of concept" than a real game and i was more interested in exploring the possibility of making some sort of a 3D game using AGD, than anything else (well I also wanted to have a simple/fun game for my smartphone ;) )

    Next step should be putting moving sprites in the radar ...I think that some racecar game can be made quite effectively this way (Binman is also working on the idea of an AGD racecar game and he has being doing some very interesting steps, exploring some other features) with the possibility of racing against different "enemies" with different behaviours should be possible...but i need to think about this and to find the time to do it.

    lastly: enjoy my dropbox :D is there so I can share my progresses using AGD with anyone interested in it (each game project comes with an excel file explaining all the variables i used and what they do)

  • Well I know it is a bit late ...but Neil Parson made such a great looking loading screen and Abrimaal provided his great music (he also assembled the game together) so i feel the least i could do is to share this new version of the game ...

    I wonder if i can still have this included in the 2014 game list... :P

    Well, you can always post into the thread and it might get added. It you don't, then I tend to forget these things.

    As I've said before there is still a chance I update it, but I don't want to update it too often. The 2015 List is taking a lot of time, and I have other projects as well.
