Anne Kirkbride, who has played Deidre in the soap for 44 years, died at a hospital in Manchester after a short illness.

    not seen it for years but my mum is a coronation street nut, so growing up I couldn't really escape seeing it all the time. remember watching when she was ken barlow's wife.

    not a big watcher of corrie, but she's another of the folk who we all grew up with. I was reading up , she joined in 72, a year before I (and some others) were born.

    We all had to watch corrie when it was 1 tv, no internet and little else doing.. at some point.

    I remember her for having an affair and when she got jailed on tv and people thought it real life :lol:


    sad she's passed away at 60 though RIP

    I didn't see that one coming, i don't watch it but my mum watches it religiously so she'll probably be shocked.

    Haven't watched corrie in close to 20 years, but still that was not expected......Soon there'll be no people who we remember from the TV left :o
