My (ex-)gf had a similar recorder that came with an "interactive TV" subscription. RF in doesn't take a TV signal, but an RF signal that carries internet data (= a cable modem). As you see, composite video is an output, same goes for SCART. At best you could hook up an external device to have its signal pass through when the recorder is on standby.
The recorder I'm talking about, had USB & RJ45 ports, neither of which worked because provider-supplied firmware didn't bother to implement that (aside from several other annoyances). So you'd have to open up the box, build out the HDD, and then you'd have a decent chance the recorded files are encrypted. :evil:
In short: good chance it's 100% useless for that purpose.
Hence why hardly anyone gives a dime for such boxes - unless it's a drop-in replacement for one they have at home (which broke). Or they want to rip out a much-used but cheap HDD from it.
