... why is a good question... maybe the prototype model predates the actual product itself?...

I nearly laughed when he showed the internals and described how the circuit board had been cut in half so only enough of the circuit board was included to show from the back view... Seemed a lot of trouble to go to just to have a model available for photographs... ..but would make sense if the actual product itself didn't exist yet at the time of the models creation...?

According to Rick Dickinson, this mock-up predates the actual machine by several months and was used for marketing photographs (brochures, flyers, ads, user guide, etc.).
