It doesn't look like we're going to get a decent search facility unless someone volunteers to do something about it. It would be a shame if it's not improved. Being able to search is a pretty fundamental function within an internet forum, especially one like this that's been going for so long.
Hi, i think the old search-form was much better. I did search for "system variable" but the search results are now a long list of partial posts with OR the word 'variable' OR the word ' system' the old search DID keep those words together plus you could choose from 'post' or 'thread'
Are there plans to get the old functionality back?
I appreciate this has nothing to do with the OP - but just to point out that quotation marks seem to work for me in the current search.
eg. Searching for system,variable gives system OR variable, but searching for "system variable" gives matches for system AND variable. I note that you put quote marks in your post, so there may be some kind of confusion somewhere, but I'm assuming you typed it that way to distinguish the search terms in your post.
There isn't one on the mobile version of the site, you'd have to switch to full site, but then it's almost impossible to post (as I just discovered) A search box and 'recent posts' link on the mobile site would be great.
