Programmer who bought a castle?

I have a vague memory of reading a Microhobby article in the old days. In that article, it was stated the dream of a programmer was buying a castle and retiring himself.

The article said that there were no news about that programmer, so he probably achieved his dream.

Anyone can point to the article? Any guess of who the programmer could be, or about his history?

As additional detail, I remember the article said the programmer was from UK, but no more clues.

Any hint? Any other one aware of that story?

Peter Molyneux? I hear he lives in a small semi near Reading.

Could be Richard Garriot? He live in something called the Britannia Manor, which is close enough I suppose.

The former being a graphic designer not a programmer and the latter being a mansion and not a castle, but hey :)

Thank you everybody for your participation. I have digging a bit about each one, and guess that Richard Garriott is the most probable one.

Unfortunately have not been able yet to find the original reference at Microhobby. Not sure if transcripts are not complete, or if the programmer was a different one.
