Text adventure from vague memories

I remember playing a text adventure on the speccy and remembered that it had a nice atmosphere, but never managed to find it later on. This was one of those speccy text adventures which, when you arrived at some location, spent some time drawing a picture of the location using line primitives and whatnot.

I remember that you had to wear a helmet, climb down to a trench and walk around. Later on you had to give meat to a bear or it killed you.

Not a lot to go on, but worth a shot here anyway. I played this as a kid while still not quite fluent with english off some bootleg tape that didn't always work, so I have really no idea what the game was called or what the actual story was.

Like I said, the memories are vague - the helmet and bear I'm pretty sure of, the rest I may remember wrong. Between the helmet and the bear there was a hut, and spears? like a native village, perhaps. The images took less than half of the screen, and not all locations had images.

I thought it might be Eureka! but it isn't, however a tip in The Tipshop that is incorrectly attributed to Eureka handily cites its origin which in turn gives the correct solution: the game is called Warlord

Holy crap, yes, that's the one! Hats off for the detective work. Also shows how vague my memories were - apparently it was a pool, not a trench you had to climb down to.
