Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb!
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :)
The Magazines are no longer on the WoS site. There is a mirror though which is available here. You are not able to multi-download groups of pages though:
A guy called Ken also runs RetroPDFs which is great if you are happy with PDF versions. Do make sure that you donate though as he puts a lot of work into it:
@jonesypeter: It's not that I necessarily needed to browse the mags now (although that has been handy in the past) but rather that everyone keeps saying; "just replace ftp with www" which doesn't appear to be accurate in this case.
Good to know about those two alternatives for future reference though, thanks. (and Happy New Year n'all!)
@Alcoholics Anonymous: Do those scripts link to the equivalent content on one of these mirrors? I'm on an iPad so not sure whether Greasemonkey is an option but that would certainly be worth exploring on the PC if it's doing more than 'just' replacing 'FTP' with 'WWW.'

It fixes images (screenshots), download links and links to individual magazine pages (like the links to reviews or adverts on a game's info page). I don't think the magazine viewer is available through wos anymore but maybe Timmy can be persuaded to add a line to change the old WOS magazine viewer link to meulie's.
The stylish update I am using should probably be a candidate for permanently styling the forums.

I don't believe it's that easy to move the links to the magazine viewer. The WoS magazine viewer is made in cgi and will redirect if you feed it something that doesn't exist. The other HTML magazine viewer is interactive but does not accept extra parameters in the URL so I can't send a filename to it.
It's probably possible to redirect it to a random web page (which I have to write and publish) and send parameters to there, but that's not "a line of change". :P

For example here's Sinclair User:
ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/magazines/SinclairUser/SinclairUserViewer.html
Changing it to http:// as suggested gives an Apache 404 Not Found with a greeny-blue background:
http://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/magazines/SinclairUser/SinclairUserViewer.html
Changing the second 'FTP' to 'www' or removing it entirely gives an uncontrolled (i.e. Default white looking) 404 message:
http://www.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/magazines/SinclairUser/SinclairUserViewer.html
Any pointers would be appreciated?
Happy belated new year.

You can also find them on Ebay for a few quid, but I can not testify to the quality.

If you go to www.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair you will see what is currently available, though as mentioned the magazines are not there.
In your example:
http://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/magazines/SinclairUser/SinclairUserViewer.html
You would replace it with (using the mirror):
http://wos.meulie.net/pub/sinclair/magazines/SinclairUser/SinclairUserViewer.html
You then have the Sinclair User viewer that you need. As others have said there are scripts around which can automate things for you.
You can also get the the Crash Viewer in a similar fashion:
http://wos.meulie.net/pub/sinclair/magazines/Crash/CrashViewer.html
and Your Sinclair
http://wos.meulie.net/pub/sinclair/magazines/YourSinclair/YourSinclairViewer.html
and ZX Computing
http://wos.meulie.net/pub/sinclair/magazines/ZXComputing/ZXComputingViewer.html
and Your Spectrum
http://wos.meulie.net/pub/sinclair/magazines/YourSpectrum/YourSpectrumViewer.html

Perhaps he can actually explain a bit more what he wants me to replace, and also what with.
