What are the differences between the grey spectrum +2, and the black one?

Can they play all the same games? Do they use the same voltage?

  • They are very different computers with various incompatibilities.
The grey +2 is heavily based on the Spectrum 128. It uses a 9 volt power supply on a barrel jack and generates the voltages it needs from that internally.
The black +2 is derived from the +3 design. It has all a large regulated power supply that supplies all the voltages required on a DIN connector.

There's a thread somewhere on the forums that lists game compatibility with the +3 and details what you can do to make them work.
