Hasbro Interactive

Hasbro Interactive (and thus also Atari) is now owned by Infogrames Entertainment SA. What this means for retrogamers and the rights to old software is still unknown.

Hasbro Interactive can be found at http://www.hasbrointeractive.com/ and a feature about the buy can be found at http://www.geocities.com/greggeorge/features/fea_infogrames.html

I'd guess it means that retrogamers are still not allowed to play the original games unless they own them legally. Infogrames would no-doubt suggest buying their updated versions of the classics (like the new release of pong a while back).

I'd also guess that retrogamers would rather not pay money for a 3rd rate update of a 20+ year old game too, preferring to play the originals.

Now, if they only put the ROMs for sale online ...
