Misprint in Crash

Just wanted to share a funny thing i saw in crash
If you look at crash magazine issue 50(1988 march)
page 99 there is a review on Los Angeles SWAT(one of the worst games for spectrum).
they talk about how awful the game is and the graphics and you see a very good Graphics showing picture which is confusing.
under the picture it says Los Angeles swat wander around tediously
and you look at the picture and you don't understand what are they talking about.
and then you see that on the same page there is a review on merlin.
in the merlin review the picture title is "five foot two sprite of blue has anybody seen his spells" - and you see an awful picture of...( a pic from los angeles swat game).
they just swap the pictures accidentally. :)

There's a few of these. Another was the Saboteur review in Issue 24 Page 31. It has a random Geoff Capes Strong Man screenshot (reviewed on page 42)

In the early days of CRASH the pages were literally glued together. You can easily imagine a scenario where something fell off and was out back in the wrong place.
And in the very early days of DTP the limited lengths of DOS file names was another curse...

Pretty sure it is the same one, he also had some cartoon strips in Crash letter pages as well.

Charlie certainly did reviews and cartoons in PC Zone magazine. Before that he also did cartoons for the Computer Exchange (CEX) adverts.

Maybe they knew it was a misprint and just fooling around or they just picked a
random page to set the scene then took a photograph and used it.

Just come across this one whilst OCRing Sinclair User reviews. Not a mis-print, but a Sinclair User reviewer completely getting an author wrong. Admittedly there were no Infoseek databases around then or web pages to check but you think he would have checked with one of his colleagues before slagging him off in print. Anyway, Con-Quest - by Derek Brewster - SU Issue 54 Page 61:

"The astounding thing about Con-Quest is its programmer - Derek Brewster - one of the more respected names in the industry for titles like 3D Death Chase and Full Throttle. This game looks like it was knocked up in a couple of days by someone with little imagination and not all that much skill."

Never though Brewster was that good myself either, but Mervyn Estcourt on the other hand...
