Metroid 2 remake for PC!

Just a quick post to say that someone has remade Metroid 2 for the PC, and apparently it's very good. I've not played the original or this port, but if you liked the original, or are just curious about it, then give the remake a try:

Bad news, but it is understandable, what with Nintendo of course owning the game's I.P., of course. The bad thing is, this remake has apparently been public knowledge for ages, and yet Nintendo waited until the port was finished and newly released before they stomped on it. Maybe they only learned about it when it was released, but you would think that Nintendo would monitor the main Nintendo-based unofficial forums, and occasionally google for things like fan-made remakes of their games.

Pretty stupid really. This was always going to happen. Nintendo owns the IP and the game's available on virtual console.

Well, Metroid 2 was not the best game of the series. So it's not that much of a loss.
