A book I would like to read.

In the late 80s I couldn't get away to the Amiga quickly enough, mainly for the graphics if I'm honest. So I find it very interesting that some of us never left the scene at all.

It seems there was still loads of interesting stuff going on, software never fully stopped, meets were arranged and fanzines continued.

I'd love to read an interesting memoir of these times (say bridging the mid 90s to the nostalgic revivial) from someone that lived through it. Perhaps Steven Howlett's 'Dairy of an 80's computer geek' would be a good model* - affordable, easily accessible and not a kickstarter.

Just to plant the thought :-)

*but without the naff luminous yellow cover!

  • I think I know what you mean. Having drifted from Speccy to the Amiga via a couple of hybrid Speccy/Sega Master System years I too am interested in that alien time period.
  • Is it finished yet?

Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........
  • They say you should read it before you die and since I would never finish it. I would live forever >:D<

  • Regarding non speccy books, I suppose Ulysees would be one I'd like to be able to say I've read. I watched the cartoon instead.

Eerm, I'm afraid the book is 'slighty' different from the cartoon... ;)
