What a lot of rubbish. Why would young people have any affinity to vinyl. They wouldn't. I've got loads of vinyl, and I'm not introverted..I'm like a gattling gun all the time in real life...AND I'm aged 21 mentally...AND, that's what counts!..AND no one can dissuade me!
I guess the hipster factor has yet to fully make it across the Atlantic. It is true that vinyl is trendy here in the US, apparently the waiting list to get anything pressed is months long.
Although in a way the result makes sense if you think that the mid 90s was pretty much the end of the mainstream vinyl market, and even many DJ's were starting the transition to CDJ. So if you were in your 20s at that time, which would mean you were one of the last generation to view records as one of the two main formats (with cassette being the other) as a young teenager, then that would definitely be putting you into your forties at this point of time.
About the introvert part.. well I guess if you find music important and your preferred genre isn't what's currently hot, you probably will find yourself spending a good amount of time alone enjoying your preferred hobby, especially if it is via listening to records, so that would be immediately marked down as 'enjoying time alone' in a questionnaire to be just as immediately interpreted as an introverted characteristic.
I also think this renaissance of vinyl in the US has quite a bit to do with the record industry basically having shot themselves in the foot by trying to stamp out vinyl in favour of CD, which in effect led to the CD ripping mass pirating of music that's eating their profit lunch. So now all of a sudden they realise that vinyl is hard to rip, has value beyond just that of the music on it, it's hard to rip, sounds good, and I'm not sure if I mentioned that it's inconvenient to rip, which means people are likely to buy it and not immediately go and put their ten record purchases immediately on soulseek or somesuch like they could with CDs, that's if they bothered to get them in the first place as they would already be on aforementioned sharing platforms. So they are trying to cultivate the cool factor of vinyl to try to build back market share. Although albums at $20+ is always going to keep it in hipsterville unfortunately.
So that means I am going to live to 130, whoopee !
I am introverted, yet I have worked and done things in the past which are far from that. I've even been a teacher ! Yet I don't even listen to a word I say !

Nothing wrong with being introverted. I was, once upon a time. You seem like a very nice fellow to me. Teachers on the other hand..I'll have to watch my grammar. It's usually like a game of pin the tail on the donkey with me.

the only guy I know who still buys vinyl is probably the most extroverted and mad nutter ive ever met. I watched him bid 230 quid on a 12" a while back. (and he got outbid lol, it went for 250 iirc... origin unknown - eastern promise ep)
I stopped taking nme seriously around 2000. used to buy it all the time from 93-98 ish. it became noticably crap almost overnight. same thing happened to melody maker pretty much.
the nme now seems to be given away free in sainsburys and I still cant be bothered

I actually think I am a nice guy as well, I don't know of anyone else who stepped away from a £15.000 job in 1991 to work on a voluntary job working with the homeless in brighton for a year. That was a load of money in those days, including a £5.000 a year training allowance and an annual increase of at least £1.000, sometimes more, I was earning more than the manager. Mel & Boozy would probably say different !

Nope I turned down a real job back in about 2001 to work in a blind society. I liked the people, both the workers, and the clients.
That job was definitely an eye opener, for lack of a better description, met some amazing people.
See Boozy, you do have a heart under that rough exterior, credit to you, some people are afraid of the unknown, I say to the unknown " Suck my duck " or something like that. I tried to offer my services to another homeless charity last week and they said that unless I am a Christian, they don't want to know. I said I still believe in Santa Claus, but that was not enough, so, their loss. I still have a signed boxing glove from Chris Eubanks to go to charity, which has waited 20 years to surface, I am sure it would have raised a bob or two.
Some say you can get high from sniffing vinyl, it can't be true !

Whilst on the train up to Rebellion last weekend I had the gross misfortune to find a copy of the latest copy of NME. Even though it's now free, it's not even worth that. And for something not to even be worth nothing is pretty pi55 poor. It was just full of absolute drivel.
just been to boro and went into hmv and saw....vinyl :) *dribbles*
saw all 3 soundtracks to the first 3 star wars films on gold vinyl *dribbles*
Pulp fiction soundtrack which i love, and Rolling Stones - Some girls (although i have the original off mi dad without the censored faces)

doesn't surprise me lol.
one of the things I used to like were the really inventive punning headlines they'd use for all their news stories/interviews etc. Then suddenly one week that stopped and the headlines became all normal like 'Blur To Release New Album'. little things like that can make quite a difference imo

I don't see emotional rescue in that box set, perhaps I missed it. I was just playing that song earlier..I come to your emotional rescue..
Oh wait it says Mono. Forget I spoke.
Well, farming and plants can be stressful. Those farmers are always shooting themselves.
Yeah they only go up to 69 in that set. Emotional rescues great tho, have it on vinyl and cd
