Magazines - Dutch speakers/readers required

Hello, all..

The magazine project continues, and I THINK I may have found a mistake with one of the folders on WoS?
Unfortunately, the magazines in question are in Dutch, so I'm not sure if one is perhaps a rename or something??

https://wos.meulie.net/pub/sinclair/magazines/DeSpectrum/

Appears to be a mix of a magazine called "De Spectrum" and "Het Computerblad SPECTRUM"

De Spectrum:
01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07,

Het Computerblad SPECTRUM
0404, 0405, 0502, 08, 09, 10, 11

De Spectrum appears to have a note of the month/year, but Het Computerblad SPECTRUM doesn't?

Any chance someone who can speak/read Dutch have a look at these to see if it's been a mistake, or if one is a rename/similar?
And if there's any clues about when the issues of Het Computerblad SPECTRUM were published?

All help gratefully received :)

Toodle-pip!
Gerard

Yep those are clearly 2 different magazines. But I don't see the need for a Dutch reader here, if you just look at one of the first pages (not title page) where you see publisher / address / contact info etc, then it's easy to tell what's what.

As for publication date, either the info is in there, careful reading should provide some clues, or you could try Googling publisher to see if (s)he can be contacted today & give that info. That last option is a long shot obviously, but fact is most people active in the early 80's can still be found / contacted today.
  • De Spectrum by Evelien Van der Knaap was soon taken over by Ferry Groothedde who changed name and numbering a couple of times, pe after SAM arrived. Typical 'fanzine', should all be in one map.
  • Thanks for the feedback.

The reason I thought a Dutch speaker might be needed was in case it had things like
"Welcome to the April issue", or some kind of similar clue to identify which month it was published.

De Spectrum has a few issues which say which month it was published in.
Het Computerblad SPECTRUM, on the other hand doesn't... Hence me hoping for some clues in the text :)

The first three folders of Het Computerblad SPECTRUM have the date hand-written in the bottom right-hand corner of the cover page, also printed under Copyright on the second page. The double number is volume/issue, which gives:
    Volume 4 Issue 4 September 1989
    Volume 4 Issue 5 October 1989
    Volume 5 Issue 2 March 1990
In the other four, numbered 8,9,10,11/12, the number is an issue number, as mentioned in the foreword (eg. "Eindelijk, nummer 8 is er, maar hoe!"). There were six issues per year ("Een jaarabonnement (6 nummers)"). The last one combines content which was intended for two separate issues ("Met dit gecombineerde nummer is de achterstand ingelopen." - "This combined issue catches up with the backlog.") It's possible that those last four with the higher numbers were published before the other three, as the file naming is mixing up volume numbers and issue numbers. There may be further clues in the articles.

  • Splendid!!!

No idea why I didn't notice those before, but I'm glad someone did.

Thanks again for the assistance, folks.

No doubt I'll be on with another magazine soon. I think I have a few on my list of "dateless mags".

Sorry - not had my coffee yet :)

Are you suggesting that they are the same fanzine?
They started as De Spectrum, and became Het Computerblad SPECTRUM when Ferry Groothedde took over?

  • I had a chat with the Editor, and have put a post up on the Infoseek corrections section (so it's on the to-do list) :) http://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/53140/magazine-renames-needed-het-computerblad-spectrum
