Help with converting a SL3 based wav/csw to tzx

edited August 2016 in Sinclair Miscellaneous
Greets. :)
I was trying to build some high speed tapes using Kobrasofts SL3 > http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0017148

On its highest speed however, I'm unable to get either maketzx or wav2tzx to work, despite hours (!) of trying. :)

Is there a simpler method of determining what I actually need to use / do ?

Thanks! :D

I have prepared a 'test sample' if required. Its a Basic loader (normal tzx) then the actual .wav file. It works fine but if you try to turn the wav into a .tzx then its not. :D

I've spent much time trying various options in both maketzxgui and wav2tzx (command line)

I recall seeing ages ago someone posting extra timing settings for maketzxgui so that you could use (for instance) the Durell loader. I guess all I really need is the 'settings' for the SP3 at speed6.

  • Would this utility help in any way?

  • Thanks. :)
No that seems to do the reverse. I have a .wav of the 'high speed' part. :) I made it.

I need to get it converted to .tzx.

  • Managed to eventually sort this from the 'experimenting with turbo loaders' topic. Although the timings given for sp6 did not quite work (I used a screen$ to be sure) but using the ones from sp3 were fine.

I'll probably post some specifics on easy ways of doing this at a near future point if anyone wants to know. :) All the info is here and there but its not always easy (for me at least it was not) to work out exactly what you need to do.
