Fuse 1.3.1 released

A new release of Fuse, the Free Unix Spectrum Emulator, is now available at the SourceForge project:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/fuse-emulator/

Highlights of this release include:
  • Warn on inserting disk images for disks larger than the emulated drive
  • Win32: Re-enable standard output for Windows builds
  • Win32: Minimum supported OS is now Windows 2000

Many thanks to everyone who's contributed to this release. Source code and binaries for Windows are currently available on the SourceForge site; compiled binaries for various other platforms should become available in the next few days.

Comments

  • wow, Windows 2000 almost predates the actual spectrum.
  • Outstanding work! And I can now use my Recreated Spectrum Keyboard on my Emulator.
  • will fuse ever emulate the multiface and be able to go full screen?
i like it because it has the opus discover emulation and is very reliable but the 2 things above would be a great bonus
  • Hi Ihave a common question, Fuse exasist from 3 packages, Fuse, Fuse-utils and Libspectrum.
Whats the advantage of seperating them, as an install package ?
my old website http://home.hccnet.nl/c.born/ has changed to http://www.cborn.nl/zxfiles/ so just click it and select a file

So that you don't have to install Fuse if all you want is the utilities, or even if you have something else using libspectrum and don't want either. It's a fairly standard way of packaging software.

My rubbish website including the redrawn Amstrad schematics and the new home of the Sinclair FAQ wiki.
  • I did not consider the utils as stand-alone, But they both depend on libspectrum, like other emulators, If libspectrum is Not found the install does not ask for it, nor does it try to install it. it just mentions thats not found.
I will just wait until suse/packman repository is updated to 131 and do an avarage update, thats as easy as it gets.
