Gimme an F! (and the rest...) Whats that spell?

My colossal ignorance about the wealth of programs available for the Spectrum has just bitten me in the arse....again!

As some may know, I've been laboring mightily to produce a music program for my own use to compose sound effects, jingles and annoying little tunes I hope will stick in peoples memory if and when they ever get to hear them as part of another of my as yet to be written programs.

Thanks to YouTube I have just discovered WHAM! which, believe it or not, is almost exactly what my notes and sketches reveal I've been trying to make. In other words I had hoped that it would eventually look almost the same and work in the same way.

Exit stage left muttering unbelievably foul imprecations.

    Yep the good ol' Speccy also has an abundance of utilities available for it as well as seven billion games. Chances are you'll find roughly what you're looking for, by erm just looking for it.

    Of course there is absolutely no harm in writing your own at all :)

    Absolutely, Boozey mate! Trouble is there's so much stuff that unless you get a tip off, read a review and so on, there's bugger all chance of finding what you wanted. Oh and the other reason why there's no hope of locating The Program is because you cannot really search when you don't know what you're looking for!

    I never thought of the Speccy as a music maker which is why I am trying to make my own and I won't give up because now i know it can be done the thing to do is check out whats around and fix what you dont like.

    For example great program though it is, Beepola doesnt let you play the keyboard without planting notes (or if it does I havent yet found out how). The docs leave a lot to be desired. If I ever get it truly figured out - I've only used it twice - I'll write my own version of the docs because it sure could use some.

    BTW I see you reside in N.Carolina thats not all that far from me, I'm on VA's Eastern Shore.

    I'm not in N. Carolina, I'm in Indiana. Scottie, another UK ex-pat occasionally takes trips to NC though. I guess it's not far from him?
