New Game: Crappy Crates

Heres something I knocked up for the festive period, a bit of a Sokoban type affair where you have to stack crates in the designated area whilst avoiding baddies and collecting power ups.

Features music by Yerzmyey, ULA+ colours and a few bugs.

    Strong points:
    - great graphics and music
    - cool snow
    - original idea

    Weaker points:
    - gameplay a bit tedious, moving a crate to a proper place requires a lot of effort
    - it's quite hard on later levels when you have to fight the baddies

    This is on the 128k with music edition.

    Was possible to punch up a crate that crashes into a nasty and another crate appears (7 on screen) this crate can also be moved. (was in Spin at the time)

    The bug that was there last time of punching a nasty and another one appearing but not moving is still present. (was in Spin at the time)

    moved the game to EmuZWin (it has roll back feature)
    Above bugs didn't happen this game.

    Some (most!) of the levels above level 10 become a waiting game for the cracker to appear and be collected to kill those nasties so that the crates can be moved into the required position.

    Reach level 20, complete it, the big nasty appears with level 21 under it, press fire, the score line appears with a bit of noise, the screen fades to black, then the big nasty appears
    again and fades to black, the score line appears again with a green bottle, this time with a lot of noise, the rest of the screen is black, then it goes back to the title page. Pressing a letter to restart the game will reset the computer. oh hum!

    Loving those graphics!!!
  • Apologies for the bugs, I knew about the crate/block punching bug but couldnt really remedy it.

    But the level 21 bug has been remedied with this release:

    As for the later levels being too hard and requiring the cracker, punching becomes a major factor in these levels and its a lot easier to punch the crates towards their position instead of shuffling them along.

    I really should have had a 4 way punching system to be honest.
