  • Played this a few days ago, had a great time.
  • I've not played it - just seen the videos ... but it looks great and seems to have great gameplay.
I would like to see a bit more polish though. Same as with his Horace games - it's a bit jarring that the screen resets immediately after you die. I would be nice with a little animation or something there.

  • It's a pretty, polished game and sticking to the walls is a great idea not so common on Spectrum.

Yet it requires patience. You must learn enemy movement pattern and wait for the proper moment for the most of the time. If you hurry, you'll lose all your lives in a minute.

But anyway big thanks to the authors for this!
  • Superb!

I wouldn't have guessed this was an AGD game.
  • It's very well done. I love the control mechanism but I have a big problem with the graphics.

AGD let's you add background graphics you can walk past, but in this game the chains in the top half of the first level look too much like solid walls - it's hard to work out where you can go.

And there are little details (like the red wires at the bottom of the first screen) that you can walk through, but on other levels (up one and over to the right from the start) the little detailed muck hanging from the pipes turns out to be deadly. It's pretty unfair that there's no indication of what is and isn't going to stop you.

  • Not a bad game.. Flippin' tricky though... (for me at least, took a few attempts to get off the first screen..!)
  • It's great to see something different. Loving the game, but still struggling with the first screen. :) Saved it to favorites.
  • Bit too difficult for me! Gave up after about a dozen attempts at the first screen.
  • Do give it a chance. You basically need to work out how to avoid getting hit. There's a bunch of keys you need to collect and place in a central room. Doing so opens up a further areas with keys.

  • A very nice game, I like the idea and the graphics. But the in-game music is very repetitive and it starts to be annoying after several minutes. I would recommend to make the music longer and less repetitive, or to change it completely, and to add an option to turn it off.

Funnliy enough, I like the in-game music a lot, it has a familiar taste, very similar to many early 90s AY melodies for Spectrum games, the latest games. As for the game, it is quite original and quite well executed, very addictive, a Little bit different to what is seen normally and with a Little practice you can get far (in my third go I already collected the red card).

    Thanks for this!

  • This is pretty amazing really :) I've gotten through about 4 screens. Easily a commercial release. Great job

You can press M on the title screen to turn off the music.

  • Good work! This game looks and feels very original, it doesn't even look like an AGD game!

The only bug I noticed is, the menu text says "UNDERGOUND LAIR" :)

OK, thanks! I would just add this option also in the game, it works only in the title screen (during the gameplay, sometimes the player would like to listen to it, sometimes not). And I think the switch is too sensitive - in many cases it doesn't turn off the music, but restarts it.

Yes, I like it, too, it's well done, I just can't listen to it 30 minutes.

Oh bugger. I had fixed that once already, must've crept back in somewhere along the line.

  • Any chance of a vega version, I try this one, it did not work
  • We don't have a Vega so not sure why it doesn't work and can't really find out either. It's been tested on multiple emulators and hardware so again not sure.

Have you tried taking a snapshot and using that?

  • Hi it brought up the title screen for about 2 seconds, then " out of memory", could it be that it's a 128k Version ? If you could put on a 48k .tap file that might work., looks like a nice game
  • Yes it's 128k only at the moment.

  • Ok thanks
  • Argh! Managed to get all 4 keys but I keep impatiently spunking all remaining lives on screens I know how to do.

Easily the game of the year so far!

  • I'll see if I can get a Vega version working. Send me the one with the fixed typo if you can, @david_retro

  • Also slight update, fixed typo (again!) and now added a beep when you turn on and off the music.

  • The wobbly blob has rejoined its brethren (I completed it). This has been really enjoyable and has gone some way to rekindling my enjoyment of playing Speccy games. So thanks very much.

Looking forward to seeing what Bubblesoft come up with next.

  • Thanks that works on the vega - thanks
  • Thanks David.

Apologies, my Vega SD card (or the adaptor, or the slot in the PC, or the Windows drivers...) died and I'm waiting for areplacement to get to the bottom of it.

  • Great job Andy :-bd I believe this is one of the best titles authored with AGD ever.

I made a turbo file of both 48K and 128K versions. 48K is compressed with Einar Saukas's ZX7 and speeded up with my SetoLOAD scheme. 128K is made out of a Z80 snapshot with Tomaz Kac's excellent Z802TZX, because I was unable to figure out where the loading routine for the last data block lies :| . Download them both from my website, as usual.
