  • I have been intrigued by the concept of Global Thermonuclear War since I saw this on Italian state TV (dubbed in our national language) in 1983:


    Some months later The Day After was also shown. But I had to wait for the Internet and YouTube to watch those two excellent British productions, The War Game and Threads.

    I would be curious to read that book, it looks like a definite case of sick humor and a possible inspiration for the Fallout series - for those who played it, do you remember the Vault-Tec Survival Guide enclosed with the first game?

    Amazon have used copies for only £86.74 and some first editions are going for £185.95 on eBay. :-)

    My Dad still has a copy of "The Black-Out Book" from the '40s that was full of puzzles and games to keep the kiddies entertained during air-raids. Not as dark as the Nuclear War Fun Book, but it includes some pretty extreme (by today's standards) anti-German/Nazi themed puzzles.
