It's good to see the MK2 Engine put to good use. I still prefer AGD though, I find it more flexible.
Well done :-)
I haven't had much of a chance to play with AGD I do plan on playing around on it sometime, but this game has taken almost all of my free time. I've looked at FASE since it allows me to code directly in C, but I haven't vested too much time with the engine.
My next game I want to generate a random maze like Berzerker (this one is not going to be a followup to Xelda) and introduce some enemy AI, which I think is doable in MK2, but I also want more than 3 sprites to work with.
Games like this made us feel a bit like hobos. We have to complete this one. Nice "Relaxing/no-brain-driller" music. Lots of puzzles and Twin hipsters selling you stuff.
We'll wait for the MK2 template. We thank you for the FASE blog as well.
Hmmmmm, I'm playing for over an hour now, but are You sure the game is OK?
I do have a torch and still it says:
I am in the same situation, got the axe, got it fixed with the flower but then none of the dungeons is open, and even if I am carrying the torch, it keeps saying that I can not open the dungeon without a torch... mmm
Actually, the last thing I rememberd was that the woodman would cut the tree but I walked the whole map and did not find any place where I could see the teddy bear...
It's in the area between woodsman and dungeon gatekeeper.
Got it! Actually I thought that was some sort of cat as It was very very similar to Garfield in pixels :)
Now in the dungeons, I switched on some levers but can not find the exit. I managed to enter a room where there is a button and a lot of movable blocks but I havent guessed the riddle there, I guess.
I like how you got the atmosphere of the dungeons and its labirynth configuration. I will have to keep playing to find the exit ;)
That's the easy dungeon. Wait for #2 and 3. A ways to go before you get there.
There was some discussion between myself and the Russell about the teddy bear. My original version of the teddy looked horrible as did the rest of my graphics. I think the only thing left are the trees which are mine. Sadly, I'm not much of an artist.
The easy answer is all of them. The first dungeon has no ill effects on throwing switches. Other dungeons not so much. You may have to explore around to find them all. There is a big hint on my GitHub (like maps). I placed them there for my beta testers.
If you have the ring from the dungeon 2, you should be able to collect the frog from swamp area. Make sure you have the crab leg and clam from desert area.
from the 2 hour 18 minute mark to 2:25 he finished dungeon 2 and returns the frog. The video finally ends at about 3/4 of the game with only a few more quests to go and the final dungeon (it's a difficult one). So far I have not had anyone complete the game just yet.
Sadly, I was not able to figure out in the coding of the game how to load and save the game, I know which variable to save, but was never able to figure it out. The other thing was to be able to make the collision detection of the sword to work better.

Have you opened the dungeon yet? The gate won't open until you get the teddy bear.
Xyzzy!

The 3rd dungeon is just plain evil. Bwahaaa.
