Who's having a Computing Saturday.

Back in the day and sometimes the present I always looked forward to Saturday as one of my computing at home days. Saturday has always been special for me having been born on a Saturday, the FA was on so we all know where my Dad was at the time.

Anyway like many others Saturday meant sitting in front of my fave computer, the Speccy of course and doing things. Games, coding etc.
Sod it!

Whats wrong with this message entry box? Why is the top filled with bold cap B's ?

Today is my writing day, I interrupted the daily flow of my serialised adventure about a week before Christmas and have only just kicked my brain back into gear. Spent too many frustrating days glumly reaching the conclusion that Basic is all I can manage to get to grips with.

Once I entered this post the message box heading went back to normal. Weird.

  • Well Mike, as I always say, if BASIC is your bag, stick with it and enjoy it. My first three years of coding was just BASIC. you'll be surprised at what you may achieve. Give time my friend :)

still not done :( set it all up on this tv using hdmi all comes on etc AND....for some reason the dvd drive wont eject, it keeps trying but it like judders and clicks but the tray doesnt pop out, it did in this machine, the other it has to go in vertical as its a small form factor so thought id put it in the wrong way round, but then theres no screw holes visible, the way i put it in, one is.
so taken it out and gonna put it back into this one and double check it still does eject Oo

^^^ Tried putting a paperclip into the tiny hole to eject? Usually there is a tiny hole for that.

  • My computer is amazingly working. I installed that game Mel mentioned in the Wii thread. So, yeah, I'm rimming the sky, or however that goes. Never tried it before. The computer is holding up admirably, since it's nearly a decade old. Already sunk over 5 hours into it. Just finished the Bleak Bowels quest and am in the Earl's court giving away the Dragonstone. Evidently there is a dragon afoot. In the sky. Nearby. Wherever it is. No clue yet, am just following the wiz. Seems ok game so far.

No, Saturdays were always better, people seem to be around, the shops were open. Oh yeah you are right, things have changed over here and Sundays are just like Saturdays now. Yay, two for the price of one.

  • Where i used to live (with my parents) we had neighbours from hell, it was all started by a very trivial issue but that's a story for another time. The area was a private estate, anyone passing would say it was a nice area but these people belonged in a run down, druggie council estate. To this day i despise what they did to my parents, but again, that's a story for another day (and thread).
