Photoshop etc may be the last word in programs,, I can't work with it or any of the others. In fact I still rely on DeLuxe Paint 2 which was only made for DOS machines and isn't as good as the Amiga version was but even so I'd still rather use it despite its limitations - I just work around them and fettle some files afterwards with shareware stuff since i refuse to pay ripoff prices for art programs.

Photoshop may be the premier program, Mike, but it's an absolute pig to use unless you've got a PHd in it. The freeware GIMP is as bad too. Can't stand using either of them. Fortunately for the limited amount of image work I do Paint.NET is more than sufficient. I'd highly recommend giving it a go as it's easy to use and quite powerful.
You can download Photoshop7 for free, that's what I use - it's a pretty decent workflow once you get used to it. I'm not a fan of new art packages either, they seem to try and do all the work for you. I have the latest Adobe everything on my mac, I'd still prefer to load up PS7.
Always wanted a nice one. As a kid I found them fascinating and still kind of do. So I had the chance to get a Tandberg TD20SE at a very good price. I could not resist.
Mine is a plain grey, stored away in a box somewhere. The same as Scottie's. I have about three total of various models in the same box. The last time I actually used the grey one was back in the very late 90's.
A few years back I remember seeing a micro-USB connected handset for that retro feel. You could actually hook it up to your phone. Come to think of it, I believe they had it for both Android and Macintosh phone. Was basically just the receiver and the curly cord. Didn't have my wallet with me at the time, was maybe $10 or so. Next day they were all out. Haven't seen it since.

Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :)

I'll second this. Its a bit of an old skool pixel pusher rather than a photo editor, but has some nice features like layers to make things easier if you want. I install on it every PC I use at work and have converted some other people to it.

Thanks Antiriad that was the clincher for me to try out Vampyres recommendation. A PIXEL PUSHER eh? Great! As in no rubber banding, changing the shape of weird boxes I hate that stuff. I like to draw with my mouse. Layers too? like cels? So it does animation too perhaps? Today I'll take a proper look, I read the title page when Vampyre recommended it but that was as far as I got.

Is this a witch hunt? :p
My favorite is closest to the monitor. I probably play the STE second most, then the Commodore then the BEEB.
