I watched that, it was a great final. I thought Higgins would have won in the end but Williams managed to hold it together. He's the oldest Crucible winner since Ray Reardon in the 1970's.
The winners cheque was £420,000 ;)

  • I’m sorry, but any cue game without Earl Stickland mouthing off Michaela Tabb is, by definition, unwatchable.

  • Brilliant final - one of the best of all time. In fact, quite probably the best after Davis-Taylor in 1985. Higgins' comeback from nearly 10 frames behind was staggering, so much so I thought he would go on to win it.

Williams has been a great player over the years and I would say after Ronnie he's the one player I'll make an effort to sit down and watch. Considering last year he didn't even qualify and was considering packing the game in, it's a monumental achievement. Similar I think to the last time Ronnie won it when he too had about a year off and annihilated everyone without really getting out of third gear.

Oh gosh yes, I forgot about Judd. Really hope he's not another Jimmy and does eventually get a world title as he's good enough. My fave player has probably always been Jimmy too (it's a crying shame he never won it) then Ronnie, Alex and Mark in no particular order.
