Re. the sound effect used in Bonkers and CDS Pool

Both games were released in 1983 by different companies. There is a sound effect that is used in both games:

Cds Pool @ 0:36

Bonkers @ 26:23

I'm wondering if it was just a common sound effect at the time, maybe from a popular sound effect utility or type-in, or if one of companies "borrowed" it from the other.

  • Probably just because it's basically a sequence of ascending notes, so a fairly basic sound to replicate.
  • These are the only two games I know that use that sound effect.
