BBC impartiality

Why is the BBC practicing a smear campaign on Justin Trudeau? Sure, its news that Justin once dressed up in Blackface but not headline news for two days (as in top article). It seems globally there is a media turn against Justin Trudeau. as if someone is pulling the puppet strings.

    They probably are.

Several celebs who may have said something a little racist or sexist even as a joke say 15 years ago, are now being dragged through the dirt and having their careers destroyed for something that is probably now irrelevant. I could understand if they'd just gone ofn a horrific racist tyrade like that 1 idiot from Seinfeld did when he was heckled by a black guy during his standup routine, but no.

Then again the type of people who do this to people have no concept that people can change, or form new opinions, or even feel bad about something they said several years ago. They're just out for blood, and most of them have pink or blue hair.

This is because these people have a mental health condition called "Intolerance". Similar to things like "lactose intolerance", every time you come into contact with the product, your body will take over, and there is not much outsiders can do. Well, other than sending them to the appropriate clinic.

Giving into their demands will just mean that all cows have to be killed, for example. Their Intolerance is not cured, and they might even develop more symptoms to additional things (like goats) as well. Not to mention that their demands are unrealistic (destroying all cows, lol).

In fact, what these people are doing, is a cry for help. Help them by directing them to the nearest doctor or psychiatrist. Intolerance is just a medical condition that can be cured, reduced, or controlled, or at the very least, to be acknowledged. Don't go arguing with them (triggering is fine), don't give into their demands; it will just worsen their condition, and they need our help.

  • Precisely. But in so,e ways it is more important than it first seems.

Trudeau is fighting an election campaign. The timing of this revelation means he could be thrown out - and the resulting right-wing/conservative party looks as full of nutters as Trump's Republican US equivalent. Could have a big effect on Canada's openness to immigration, serious issues for its continued social healthcare policy and a major effect on trade deals...

  • However, we also need to mention John Humphrys going (he let Farage and Conservatives lie unchallenged over Brexit) and political editor Laura Kunsberg (starting a Twitter pile-on on the worried father who confronted the Prime Minister over NHS cuts).
  • Timing is a good word here, has been noted with this and others such 'things' usually tend to appear at erm 'critical' moments...

It is, but it should not be the number 1 news story on the site for three days unless someones giving it a push. It turns out that most sensible Canadians really do not care that he once did fancy dress as a black Aladin and believe him to be a politician with good intentions.

I would say I'd much prefer a well meaning progressive and fair politician that once dressed up in blackface, than a closet racist with politician with white bias but no skeletons in the closet. We've all done stuff in our younger days that makes us cringe now we are more mature and considered in our actions and appearance.
