this is an issue started by the f**** Apple and Google and some IIRC, if you are using chrome/chromium try the extension "High Contrast" https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/high-contrast/djcfdncoelnlbldjfhinnjlhdjlikmph has an option to increase the contrast of the the sites that use this BS practice.
