edited May 19 in Books
Hi
i have a little folded A4 paper in my 'complete spectrum rom disassembly'. Its an errata or modern said a 'typo-list'.
How many erata are known and for which books?
I should make one for 'zak boekje voor de zx spectrum' since it has at least one error on page 103
'Tips'
line 8
"PRINT 65535-USR 7962"
should be
"PRINT 65536-USR 7962"

  • When the books go back online, errata sheets will be available with the books.

  • Will there be corrected versions of the books (eventually)?

Corrected versions, not requiring the errata sheets i.e. the corrections have been made to the main document. Perhaps not historically accurate, but a lot more useful than having to remember there's a sheet of notes somewhere that you might have to look up.

There are various modified versions of games on WoS, so why not modified books that fix previous inaccuracies?

  • There is the ability (unused) for mags & books to have text versions of the pages.

With that in mind, it is entirely possible we could have the text versions being corrected, with a note that it's different to the printed book page.

  • Hi, errata are usualy the source for exactly what you ask, making a SECOND edition of a book.
very often in a next edition, especialy with science, a second edition makes SURE those mistakes and misspellings are corrected.
some novel writers even chance halve chapters, but with computer i will call that a new book...
but a second edition is a good possibility. as a PDF even easier.

According the text this file should be available on comp.sys.sinclair , which site moved severall times.
I dont know if this is avilable at the news group but its the origin of this 3 page errata cq typo-list :

personally , my solution for 'p75' is naming the LD e,1 as 'LIST-ALL-1' since then its clear that 'E=1' and the other 3 references/addresses do NOT have to be changed at all which is must more clear as well

  • Just a quick note to say we can now accept erata text for the books. These will work better as a text document so we can easily amend the page.
