Although I loved Star Wars in the arcade (My all time fave arcade game), Starstrike 3D does win on the speccy. better programmed, and it had sound for god's sake!

I remember thinking at the time (1980's) 3D Starstrike was great. 20 years on I am still playing it and think this is a great game.

(I remember our hairy friend Jeff Minter voicing his admiration for 3D Starstrike in some interview back then)

You might also wish to look at Design Design's "Dark Star" and "Forbidden Planet".

Also, Realtime's "Starstrike 2" is great if you play it under emulation at 200% speed!

Different games. In fact, if you want speed, then Star Wars. If you more artist programming Starstrike is the key.

But the Star Wars no-sound engine (can't remember its name) it's great to make new games.

Too bad I don't how to program. I'd make a Battlestar Gallactica 2003 Speccy game :(

... and appears to have been used for the Empire Strikes Back conversion, which did have sound (on a Speccy 128, at least).
