Does anybody know where I can get a membrane or 2 for my Spectrum 48k+?

    I just bought a "new" 128k membrane off this guy rwapsoftware@aol.com on ebay. So far no problems but haven't given it a good thrashing yet.
    I think is 48K membranes were about ?6.50 +P&P

    Yer, I think it's ?12.50 for a 48k+/128k/+2A membrane, but ?6.50 for a Rubber Keyed 48k.

    I also need one or two, but could probably pick up a working 48k+ for the same price, so I've put off. I might just sell them as spare/repair.

    The normal 48k membranes are leftover spare membranes from the 80's. The 48k+ and 128 membranes are newly manafactured ones using different materials to the old ones, and won't degrade or crack like the old ones did. Hence the price difference.

    Despite Mels best efforts I got my new membrane in the post this morning, cost me ?19 including postage, bit steep but then where else are you gonna buy a brand new membrane?

    Sintech are a good source of replacement membranes. I bought one there a few years ago. The only problem is the postage, since it comes from Germany.

    There has to be a way of making these things. It's only a sheet of plastic with conductive paint (or something), very expensive for what it is. I have made a PCB and used key switches for one of my 48K's and it works very well. Cost about the same to build as buying a new membrane.

    Any ideas anybody?

    I bought a QL membrane off these guys and had it shipped to the US. Very helpful and real good quality product.

    I ended up using rwapsoftware@aol.com for my membranes, bit expensive though...
