Great Giana Sisters

edited June 2002 in Games
Did that game or a demo of it ever see the light of day?
I know it wasn't released due to similarites with mario bros, but has it ever leaked out over the years since?

I know Giana Sisters came out on the amiga if thats any help and I have a feeling that its been released as freeware or something, but that might just be a rumour.
Im also pretty sure I remember having a copy of SU with a Giana Sisters tips thingy in, although I dont suppose that really means anything.
But anyway, if the spectrum version is as good as the amiga, then its still going to be a bit crap.

Im sure i had a bootleg copy of it. I just don't remember 100% Because I wasn't aware of it being banned, I never made much fuss of it. So this is why I don't remember all that well.

But alas, I don't have any of my copies anymore, In fact I'll deny ever having any :)

And now I feel like kicking myself, cause if i did, i'd be able to help the WOS archive out! :(

I have a PC version, a Quake TC and a Commode64 disk image for GGS around an a hard disk somewhere - they're all fairly poor though compared to the origianl Super Mario Bros...

Commodore 64 version of GreatGiannaSisters is very nice game.. coders of this game take profit of the original Mario but they proved that commodore were a great machine, so much good like Nes, and in my opinion far better than this...

Im a speccy fan, but I also guess that C64 were a very important machine where a lot of coder were able to demonstrate theirs creativity,.. just like on speccy..

I remember now the NetYaroze Kit for Playstation,.. ppl said that this was an attempt of Sony to let everybody could make their own game, potencing so creativity and new talents on programming.. well I guess thats all C64 and Speccy coders ever had this.. but not console games becoz companies has to get the license to make games..

In past was easiest to publish a game on speccy or c64 than on NES or MasterSystem.. I just guess Mastertronic or Codemasters were very nice for 8 bits computers in many facts, and in console systems Mastertronic were never had reason to be..

    sorry for my poor english.

Is there any way to contact the software house that produced it or somehow find the programmers. Or perhaps the reviewers (since software houses often give away copies to reviewers).

No idea what a Amiga or C64 are , but I got the information that the YS preview copy was probaly lost as they moved. They tested all tapes, even the unlabeled ones in order to find the preview version, but without results. Oh god, I hate nintendo for this! I hate them, I hate them, I HATE THEM!!!

    There's a bit of a difference !
Do you think you have it on tape or disk.
If it's tape then good, if not them probably bad :(
