For the last fortnight, I have been listening almost constantly to the new Boards Of Canada album, The Campfire Headphase. Brilliant beyond words, as usual. :D

Not as good as 'Keep on rotting in the free world' by Carcass.

Mel - the song's called One Way Ticket to Hell and Back.

I think the title is a typical Darkness irreverent piss-take of Bat out of Hell.

    Funny.

The band remind me of Queen - particularly Freddie Mercury - in that they don't take themselves seriously at all. A refreshing change to the usual serious rocker line-up, if you ask me.

Well they do have legendary Queen producer Roy Thomas Baker producing the new album.

After the Goldrush, On the Beach, and Rust Never Sleeps are probably the Neil Young albums I listen to most. His later albums have not made a great impression on me it has to be said. All the right ingredients are there but they just seem to be more tepid than earlier efforts.

Roger Waters is okay in small doses, you can't doubt the man's sincerity but his lyrics tend sometimes to be a bit heavy-handed and jarring. Amused to Death is okay I guess. An album with a similar sort of feel is The Final Cut which I tend to enjoy more, although it's generally not considered a "classic Floyd album".

    Cordially,

    Jamie
