She's the woman making the report at the Police Station, Rosie Wrigley I think her name is. One of my favorite scenes in the film, along with the scene with the little girl with her doll (played by a very young Jane Asher).
Finally got round to episode 8 of The Last of Us...Oof! Not as brutal in places as I thought it would be, but worse in places other than. I think I like how they handled it in the end, it kind of follows the story, but one thing over the game that I think makes the show worse for psychological stuff...
Spoiler:
Ellie finishes David off, Joel isn't there to take the machete away, tell her to stop, tell her it;s OK, she finishes the job off before he turns up.....Wasn't expecting that :O
Just caught up with it myself. I think the worst one is the dead guy just staring at Joel after bleeding out. I've always been a bit squeamish with the knee though... Also the interactions with all of the cult gave the characters some meaning rather than just the faceless NPC's of the game so that added extra weight. David felt more evil in the show too - thankfully Ellie's bullshit-detector is running at full capacity.
I didn't expect that either - was waiting for Joel to wade in.
Did you notice who David's right-hand man James was? Troy Baker - Joel from the game. Can't wait to watch the finale - best TV show of 2023 by a mile.
There's a film on Talking Pictures tonight that Mel might like called Times Square. It's from 1980 and stars Tim Curry, it's about 2 runaways from different backgrounds that form a punk rock band. Might watch it myself.
Just watched the latest Mandalorian, chapter 19. That was bit of a disappointment, as it has been given the 'Andor' treatment, by having a side story with different characters in order to do some 'character building' (the scourge of US TV). The uniqueness of The Mandalorian is it's linear storytelling mostly from the point of view of our hero Din Djarin. Andro was a slow paced thriller whereas the Mandalorian is a western through and through. the only other characters are the ones that the hero comes across.
I just hope this is not a new direction for the series? I enjoyed it the most for it's simplistic plots and action driven story telling.
A 50's sci-fi film called The Gamma People that was on Talking Pictures last week.. Stars Leslie Philips of all people :D
EDIT: A very strange film. Set in an unknown, unnamed country but all the signage is in German.
Mel posted up Brain Damage a week or so back, and I was bored the other night so I watched it as well. Probably over 30 years since I last saw it, and it’s definitely one of those so bad it’s good movies. I liked the Basket Case cameo on the Subway Train. I didn’t remember that from the first time around.
Now I kinda want to watch Basket Case to see if the part when he’s on the train if he’s sitting opposite the guy from Brain Damage :))

Haha ... I found the full thing on YouTube and quickly skipped over some bits where text is shown. Well, it looks like German to you, but almost everything is misspelt. But it's not surprising, whenever Yanks/Brits try to make a movie/game or w/e with a fictional Germany setting in it, they can't be arsed to hire someone who makes sure that things are actually authentic. Reminds me of one of the more recent Wolfenstein games, where the city of Paderborn was set in the alps - that's about as accurate as me claiming Oxford is in the Scottish Highlands! :P
Yup it's like Spender running from Jesmond Metro Station to Tynemouth on the tracks in 2 minutes....That's at least a half hour journey on the train, not on foot :))
Felt like watching more old horror stuff....I started watching House, but then ditched it a few minutes in....I'm watching Phantasm instead! I love that movie, haven't watched it for years!
House was brilliant back in the day. It's a bit dated now but still entertaining. Same for the first Phantasm, it looks very dated.
I'm going to watch that new Nick Love crime drama on Sky, A town called malice.
Those vulcans!??!?!
I'm really enjoying it, but the constant 'harking back to the old days and characters' and rehash stories is grating a little.
Surely the story ark is a combination of TNG Conspiracy and DS9 Dominion wars?
Spoiler:
Gangster Vulcans with logical approaches. Surely if he was brought up in the slums away from the Vulcan ideals, he would just be a Romulan in character.
I just watched a music video of that 90s song "Brimful of Asha". There's nothing special about that so I wouldn't post about it here.
But what I found very odd: the video was uploaded 12 years ago and had over 5 millon views and 700 comments ... but the last comment was from 7 years ago. I wonder if the comments were suddenly turned off? But I could leave one, so I just did that. First comment in 7 years, blimey ... ;)

Thora Hird is in it somewhere too.
Oh, I hadn't heard that! :-p
`TALLICA!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be honest I think I may prefer Way of the Dragon over Enter the Dragon...
Just watched S01E01...
