I saw David a couple of years ago in that NCIS programme and couldn't believe he was in his 80's. He had kept himself in great shape. Looked 20 years younger. Must have been the oldest forensic scientist in America!
I think he was the last big name from "The Great Escape" to pass away.
John Leyton (the Tunnel King) is still alive, but not sure he'd be consider a big name.
Known more as a pop star than an actor when i was a kid although he was in some big films of the time.
William Russell is still alive but hardly a big name either.
That's right, recorded at Joe "Telstar" Meek's studio with Chas Hodges from the band, The Outlaws and sometimes Meek studio session player ( later to become Chas and Dave ) on bass.
EDIT: No he wasn't my uncle but he was probably the uncle of one of one of my cousins many times removed.
We're all Jock Tamson's bairns.
I'm 1/16th Sami. My ancestor was "Man-who fishes-on-the left-bank-of-the-Indalsälven-and-does-not-like-man-from-next-village-because-he-is-an-arse-with-a-stupid-beard-and-who-thinks-he-is-cool-with-his-commodore-64-Persson"
I always cringe at that scene in Deck the Halls, where Danny Devito and Matthew Broderick are shouting 'Who's your Daddy' (which I've never understood, some weird twisty sex thing some Americans have) at the Santa Dancing Girls, who turn out to be their daughters. :))

I am/was distantly related to him :( My Mum met him a couple of times when she was a kid at family events and stuff.

Surprised he made it to 90 then drinking all that buckfast and eating all those deep fried battered marsbars

If you lived in the deep south I would reply with "Your Daddy", but as I assume you are not, I wont. :))
