If I remember correctly, I Ain't Got Nobody is unfinishable in it's original state due to some bug or other. xmikex had to use a poke in order to RZX it successfully. Another unfinishable Harry Price game (I suspect there are quite a few) is Them, a blatant rip-off of Project Future. We gave up RZXing that one eventually. Here is a link to the original thread though.

I think that will be the last Harry Price game we'll be attempting.

    Cordially,

He was still at it just a year or two ago!

Harry Price often introduced bugs into games in the process of pirating them, so that finishable ones became unfinishable in his version.

One such is Big Bad John (a rip-off of Molecule Man), which contains no exit but which can't be finished even if an exit is POKEd in...

Bubble Run, Cashdash, Colin The Cleaner and Crimebusters Inc. can all be completed, although some are rather messy endings.

My God! I just played Crimebusters and was shocked at how he left Magic Knights feet in the main sprite! I was also frustrated to the point of forgetting to breathe by the room called 'The Balcony'. You either don't make it to the first platform, or you make it but then jump immediately after landing and wind up back on the ground again :(

Anybody here hacked a well-known game (Not MM or JSW :D ) and made their own game out of it using the engine?

Woody clearly hacked the legendary Hyper Poo Creatures to make his game Super Crap Invaders. The bloody nerve!

I remember when i got my speccy in '87 there was 2 packs of Tynesoft games with it, i remember enjoying Odd job Eddie (I loved platformers) and who said that but i had no idea there were ripped off from other games, incidentely the same tape had H.A.R.D on it which has never loaded to this day!
I think a lot of games were rip offs in those days, especially budget games. For example, Fernadez mus die could be called Ikari Warriers or Cabal could be Operation Wolf in colour! (Still great games though!)

Harry Price....where is he now? If he reads this he could come on and we could see how he defends himself!

He actually posted to the WOS guestbook, and then gave permission for all of "his" games to be distributed by WOS.

    See here.

What an interesting topic, inspires disbelief, anger and hilarity all in one go.

As described via the excellent link at the beginning of the topic, the real cherry on the cake for me is the 128k version of Odd Job Eddie which has no additional features, but has simply been modified to crash on the 48k models! Incredible cheek!
