I'm planning to go there, but I'm not sure if my schedule allows me to...

I will be there, and so are Martijn van der Heide, Jeroen Kwast, Ben Versteeg, Martijn Groen (with a SGD that runs under XP, i have been testing this for a while now) and several others like Rudy Biesma, Johan Koning, Peter Krijnen and so on.

Paging Dr. Beeb, i still need to send you something by snail-mail, stuur me je NAW gevens, gaarne, en hartelijk bedankt, als ik hem maandag op de post doe dan heb jij hem voor vrijdag nog, en je hebt hem nodig om binnen te komen.

An impression of day 1 is available on

It was nice, except for the way back home (see last picture)

Still wondering if Ben Versteeg made it to home already, traffic on the A2 between Utrecht and Den Bosch is still a mess over a lenght of 26 km.

Still you could be on the A50 north of Arnhem, it has grounded to complete stop there, and that's over a length of 20 km, in both directions.

All in all there is now (at 23.30) still 211 km worth of of trafficjams on the highways, impossible to tell how the situation is on other roads in the South and East of the Netherlands.

Same for *many* people going by train. Only the east-bound trains ran occasionally (lucky for me!), all other directions were still off...

Hopefully it'll be better tomorrow so I can be there again for another great day!

Okay I'm going to sound like a total plumb here but...what is the HCC exactly? A kind of electronics show?
  • edited November 2005
HCC as in Hobby Computer Club, still one of the largest in the world with almost 200.000 members.

But to keep things in check and organised its divided up in smaller so-called departments wich represents a certain region in the Netherlands (like Haaglanden, the region in and around the Hague) or in User Groups like the HCC-Sinclair, HCC-Commodore or HCC-flightsim for example.

Next year in oktober the HCC-Sinclair will be 25 years old, and there was a time that HCC-Sinclair meetings drew a larger crowd than these HCC-Days, heck we then had a majority of votes in the organisation, a bit like Labour, only worse.

Close - its the Hobby Computer Club, divided into a collection of user groups, either per region or special interest, such as the Sinclair User Group.
The annual meet (HCC Days) features stands for all of the user groups, as well as commerce (sort of a market).
The HCC Days is the largest computer event in Western Europe, with between 100,000 and 120,000 visitors.

KeepGood: what info are you looking for?
    - The HCC itself, or
    - The Sinclair Users Group, or
    - The HCC Days event?

What a great-looking event! I'd love to say that I'd go one year, but I suspect I'd miss out on quite a bit due to language issues... :(

Thanks for the pics, Martijn. Sadly I couldn't make it, but it looked like a wonderful event once again. Like the pic of the Spits-poezen! :)
