Portable mp3 players

edited November 2005 in Chit chat
I was looking at the CREAM CMP3-01 512MB mp3 player at Comet, and looking at the tech specs it says on the Comet website that it requires 20GB of storage space on your PC to run the software that comes with it. Surely this is a mistake? 20GB?? I don't have 20GB spare on my computer for sure. Is this common for mp3 players?

Sounds like a mistake especially because it's only a half a gig player.

Sod the software that comes with it. if you're running XP, I can guarantee that you won't need the software, as XP will assign it as removable storage, and all the space you'll need is the space for your MP3's/WMA's.

Starglider is right, there's no need for the software at all if you've got XP (and possibly 2000).

The only reason you'd need to install any software is so you could reflash the bios on the player. Something I doubt you'll ever need to do.

It'll appear as a removable drive next to the CD/DVD drives in My Computer. Just copy your mp3 files into it and away you go.

Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.
