They didn't spell it right: "The Commodore MediaBox" is supposed to be "BreadBox"

But Commodore has had more comebacks than Rocky.

    It's like every other year.

Being a bit of a VIC 20 fan .. (we all like to flirt with the pervy side of life every now and then... it's no worse than watching Channel 4) ...

Whilst i'd trust it to maybe play GRIDRUNNER or perhaps even JETPAC, I really don't think I could trust it's global positioning system. The last thing I'd want to do whilst on a trek to the North Pole, is to lug a VIC 20, 1541 drive and 1000 watt generator around with me.

Even worse, imagine VIC 20 SAT NAV..

you're hurtling down a motorway at 70 mph, coming up to a slip-road....

Do you take this road or not?

Whilst driving, you've got to somehow retrieve the correct cassette out of the boot of the car, put it in the datasette, press SHIFT and RUN/STOP (whilst precariously balancing the monitor on your knee) and then wait for the correct program to load at 300 bits per second. You'd have run out of road before you'd found the tape header.

Reading the article, I've never understood Amiga fans' efforts to keep the AmigaOS alive. To me, the Amiga is not just the OS, but the (at-the-time) cutting-edge hardware, too.

No, the Amiga has had its time and its hardware is now obsolete. No wonder no-one wants to reintroduce it (or the also-obselete OS) into the marketplace.
You haven't heard about the AmigaOne then? built purely around the PPC hardware that can use almost any PCI/AGP cards. AOS4 on the A1 can boot in under 20 seconds from cold and reboot in less than 4 seconds.

The Amiga is still about the hardware aswell as the OS.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

    something seriously wrong here
  • edited December 2005
I hope it does well ! I'm serious, if someone can see Commodore doing well with a new computer or MP3 player or whatever it is (like the joystick) then someone might think hold on why dont we bring out a Sinclair xxxxx whatever

The more retro things which do well its better for us.
