  Is that the game where you can go the bookies or 'Turf Accountant'?

  Thanks bbulldog and everyone else, the adventure in question was indeed Urban Upstart " Escape from Scarthorpe ". Its nearly been 20 years since I last played the game, so it should bring back a few memories.
