The A-Z of Classic Computer Games

I was looking around a local bookshop today and I came across this brilliant little book. The author, Jack Railton, appears to be a big fan of the Speccy as most of the book talks about our favourite games of old, e.g. Manic Miner, Chuckie Egg, Daley Thompson's Decathlon etc.

I flicked through it and it does seem to be worth buying. I didn't have the money to buy it today so I put it aside and will get it on Wednesday.

Here's a link.

It looks like an university textbook. They're usually expensive. :)

Thanks for the post about the book Necros

I had a look on Amazon and liked the sound of it, the book arrived this morning and its great. Some of the other retro game books on amazon seem a bit too 'american' and feature a lot of games which werent too popular over here but this one mentions a ton of well known games including many Speccy ones.

Not tons of pictures but a very good book though

I just ran to the shop and bought the book. In the acknowledgements section, our very own Nick Humphries (NickH) and Richard Hewison (Rainbird Rich) are mentioned for helping out with some of the pictures.

I think its an excellent book, reading a bit here and there. Lots of nostalgic moments in it as well as a good dose of classic games and arcade games. Plus with the Speccy coffee table book coming along as well it should be very good
