Ozric Tentacles

I bought their 'Best of' compilation earlier today. This is the first time I've properly heard the band and I really like them so far. I know there are a few fans here so what do you think is their best release overall?

Necros.

aahh one of my main areas of expertise :)

erpland (the 2nd proper album, originally a double lp if i remember rightly) is my fave.......its the dubbiest

i have about 8 albums on cd from the first "proper album" pungent effulgent (which is prolly my 2nd fave)
i also have 1 of their pre album cassette only releases (reissue i believe cos the covers glossy)

also look out for a rare ozrics related album - the ullulators - flaming kaos....ive always loved that fucking album, i dont own it now tho, just have it on crappy copied cassette.

theres other related bands such as nodens ictus (ambientier?), the cheapsuit oroonies (folkier), eat static (trancier)

ive seen em about 10 times too, excellent live

Sploosh is the best track. There used to be an indie club in Wolves called The Dorchester that used to play some Ozrics stuff. They also used to sell poppers behind the bar. I stopped using those when I wokeup the one morning and could not speak!!!! The Dorchester is now a dance club and there was a gang related shooting there last week!!!!.......and people used to complain about 'those dirty looking crusty people'
    Sausages is more important

erpland and pungent effluent are two cracking albums, i like a lot of tracks on afterswish which is a compo.

eat static are certainly not trance! been going for donkeys now, i prefer their early stuff like, abduction, implant and science of the gods which has a superb heavy industrial sound. and b-world is a great live album too
